CHOOSE YOUR LOVE AND LOVE YOUR CHOICE!!!
Let's see. Everyone has a love story, right? It might not be the movie romance every girl dreams of. But I love it. It is not an easy romance that's for sure. It is totally worth it though.
Chad and I met in 11 grade of High School. We attended rival schools...SCANDALOUS when you are a teenager. And, to make it worse he played Football at said rival school. But, don't worry, I didn't become a traitor until AFTER high school. During high school he dated my best friend for a blink. After we graduated he got a job at my Aunt's gas station where I happened to be working. We stayed friends for a couple of months and then somehow the knuckle head convinced me to go on a date with him. I always thought he was cute but I wasn't the type of friend to date a friends left overs. BUT, I guess I am.
Our first date wasn't a date at all. It was a hanging out of sorts. My 10 year old cousin at the time, Whom I love like a sister, got my cell phone and called him over to watch Pearl Harbor with her (a date with her!). He just knew I put her up to it (WRONG) and came over. I was sure surprised to see him there. It was awkward to say the least, but after a half hour or so he had me pretty much hooked.
A couple of months later he left on an LDS mission to Canada for two years. I loved him so I waited (romantic,) yet? It was hard but I put my attention on College and what not. I knew he would be it for me so there wasn't any point in wasting my time with anyone else. After two dutiful years he returned home. I was so nervous to see him again. What if he didn't like my hair long? What if he thinks I've changed? What if he thinks I gained too much weight? What if I've LOST weight? What if? What if? What if?
Thankfully, he came down those escalators at the airport and all worry left me. I was so happy to see him. I wish I could've ran to him, but that would've been insanely inappropriate. But, once it wasn't anymore, I did. Let me tell you, that first kiss after came home was a little awkward too. I was nervous, he was nervous, we both were a mess. Ok, well, I was more nervous, he excited.
He came home in November of 2005 and we were engaged January of 2006. We knew were were getting married in March of 2006 and he hadn't given me my ring yet. But, the planning must go on. My sister and I went to look at wedding dresses. She made me try on the ugliest dress there for some reason. As I stood in the mirrors looking at this "thing" I was wearing, inwardly cursing my sis, out of the corner of my eye I caught a handsome man in a tux walk around the corner. He bent down on one knee, opened the box to reveal the most amazing ring, and asked me to be his forever.
FOREVER. Just how it should be. We were married in the Bountiful, Utah LDS Temple. It was the most amazing day. I will cherish the memories forever. It was the day I began my family. The day we became a family.
Now, we have two little boys. Both of us have graduated College. We have a bunny and a dog. We still love each other despite the bumps and bruises we've gotten thus far. It really is a love story. What makes it so beautiful is that it is REAL. It's mine. I love it.
