I was here...

(mute the music at the end of the blog)

Isn't it all of our goal to leave a mark and touch people's lives? I have always wanted to do something great with my life. When I started college I wanted to go into a field that would allow me to do so. I chose to go into Communications and English. I just new it would take me great places.

Chad came home from his mission and I knew in my heart I was meant to marry him and start that life. I knew it. So, I gave up my dream of moving to New York or somewhere equally amazing. Soon after getting married (and after graduating college)... I became a stay-at-home-mom. I honestly have an inner battle all the time with what I want out of life. I love being a mom, but I want to be something more as well. I day dream about a big career or being an author or something like that. Silly, I know. But, I really really want to leave my mark on this world.
THEN...
Today, I was sitting in my closet after cleaning up the mess Jett and Kaleb made for the hundredth time and Jett walked in and plopped his cute little self on my lap eating a popsicle and it hit me...I HAVE LEFT MY MARK. Just, in a different way than I originally thought. Some people become doctors, entertainers, philosophers and many other things...but some of us are lucky enough to be mom's. I need to remember just how lucky I am to have the chance to mother healthy, strong, and adorable kids. Some would give anything to have this opportunity.

Jett and Kaleb are amazing and I am proud to be their mom. They will grow up to be something amazing and possibly do amazing things. I have been trusted enough to encourage them along their way and to make sure they get there.

I know I can still do whatever I want in my life, and I plan to do so; but for now I am meant to be their mom and Chad's wife. It is enough. I am enough for them. I am all they want and need. I am proud to leave my mark through Jett and Kaleb and our family.

Jett at 1 month old
So, here's my mark. Enjoy them!!! I know I do.

Going Private

You know you all will miss us. We are just that awesome, so leave us your email.
hahaha!! I'm sure

I think its for the best. I was taking some pictures off my friends business website so I could create her some flyers and what not and I realized how easy it was for me to take her pictures and make them my own, allowing me to do whatever I pleased. I would not like that to be done to my family. PRIVATE it is. Not sure just how many care to keep reading, but I don't mind sharing my little blog with those who do. THANKS!!!

The man of the house...

CHAD
Hmm...where to begin. Chad. My hubby for 5 years and my best friend for 8. He is the only person who knows how to make me 100% mad and 120% happy. He has a really funny sense of humor. He says things that leave you wondering how he even came up with it. He cracks me up. I love how he plays with the boys. He will go out and jump on the trampoline for hours with Jett and he will "fly" Kaleb around the house. He works very hard for us everyday in the dirt, heat, cold, wind, rain, snow and everything else. He never complains about it either. He went through college being a husband, dad, full time employee and everything else he needed to be. I often complain about his passion for sports but I really love that he does have it. It shows his energetic personality. I hate that he wont take out the garbage, but I love that he wont hesitate to clean the kitchen after dinner even though he just came home from working 9 hours. I love that he loves me even though I don't look like the person he met in High School! He loves me regardless. I love that he call's Kaleb "Baby Cakes" and Jett "Essay or Buddy". He gets so much enjoyment out of giving our children things he knows they will like or taking them places they will love. He is the true definition of finding joy in your children's joy. Their happiness is his happiness. He will do anything to make them happy. Last summer he went on Puff the Magic Dragon at Lagoon over and over for Jett and not once complained. He looked so cute riding on it with him. He is a great person. I am not so great because I forget just how great he is. I love him so much and my boys are in love with him. Jett's giggles get so loud once Chad walks through the door. We love when Daddy comes home. I could talk and write all day about him but I wont. I love him. My boys love him. And all the luckier, he loves us!!!

It's funny...

How fast time goes!
Kaleb is already 8 months (on Tuesday). I cant believe it. It feels like it is rushing by. He is such a good little boy. He is so big and smart. He loves loves baby food. Well, any food for that matter. He does really well eating just about anything. He loved mash potatoes and the other day I gave him a french fry just to see what he would do and to my surprise he gummed it down and ate it just fine. He is starting to crawl. He will get on his hands and knees and rock back and forth, but then gives up. But, he still manages to get around. He just rolls. He is always laughing and smiling. He said Momma the other day. Im sure he didn't know what he was saying, but I take what I can get. He absolutely adores his big brother. He is happiest and most content when Jett is around. Which is weird, because Jett is constantly loving on him and mauling him. But, both boys enjoy it. Needless to say, all of us sure love him.

*Jett was throwing a fit and wouldn't get his picture taken. So, all the new pics are of Baby Cakes*
This last picture is funny. Everyday Jett wants me to build him huts and he always wants Kaleb to sit with him. BUT, this time Jett said the hut was "cool" so Kaleb couldnt sit it in (hence the cranky face). SO IT BEGINS!!! Jett will need to get used to his little brother wanting to hang out with him. I dont know how I got so lucky to have Jett as my boy. He is so funny and smart. He seriously is the BEST big brother. He has transitioned into having a brother so well. He loves to play games on the iPad still. He is still into Thomas. He constantly is saying "love you mom!" and he gives me hugs (mixed in with spitting on me and calling me stupid of course, he is 3 after all). He knows all his colors and can count to 10 and say his ABC's (well, most of the time he will recite them). He loves his bunny Hopper and loves to jump and be outside. He is so much fun and he is a crack up to be around. He says the darndest stuff. I get nervous when he is around "normal" families that he will say something off the wall ;) When he burps or farts (which is often these days) he yells "Nice One" curtesy of his dad. He thinks the proper word to say when tripping or something is "damn dangit" curtesy of yours truly (I start to cuss and then catch myself so he just went with it). He calls everyone stupid (which I hate). These are just a few of the random things that he does that crack me up and worry me a little. HE REALLY IS AMAZING despite he crazy parents :)

I guess this post is just a post for me to remember how sweet my boys are and how much I love them at this point. I am not going to kid everyone and say it is perfect. THIS MOM STUFF IS HARD. Most of the time I have to take a deep breath and count to 2O so I don't go coo-coo. But, there is definitely more good than bad times in my life. These boys bring so much happiness to me I will never be able to explain it.

My goodness...

JETT IS FUN! He got on the computer all by himself (something he knows better than to do!) and he used the photo booth and took pictures of himself. He sure is a crack up.
I could learn a thing or two from him. He is always so happy!!!
He saw this picture and he said "Hey, I Hopper!" Hopper (the bunny he got for Easter) has a lion's mane and big teeth...I can totally see the resemblance.

Such a goof. I sure love him.
